Grand Canyon 2008

This is my twenty-third year of teaching at Chaparral Elementary School, and I could not be happier. I currently teach third grade, but have taught combination classes and fifth grade for many years. I thoroughly enjoy teaching. Working alongside parents to bring out the best in their children gives me great satisfaction.

I am a student, too. I recently finished a Master's Degree in “Integrating Technology in the Classroom”. I always seek out new ways to improve my teaching skills and advance the quality of education at Chaparral Elementary.

When I am not in the classroom I love to travel. In my early years of teaching, I spent three summers in Northern Spain teaching English to Basque children. It was an interesting experience teaching in another country. Recently I have been to Montana, Oregon, Minnesota, Washington, Alaska, and Belize. My husband and I also enjoy smaller trips to the Sierra, San Diego, and local beaches. Last  summer we traveled to the Arctic Circle for a fly fishing trip! We plan to continue traveling and learning, together, for many years to come.

I am very fortunate. I love being a teacher and a lifelong learner, too.
