I know I wouldn’t! This story is about a boy named Luke who lives in a time where the law says that parents can have no more than 2 children, which in Luke’s case is a very bad thing because he is a third child For me the book was an amazing adventure. It was a suspenseful, nail biting, keep you on the edge of your seat, can’t wait to read more kind of book. I loved this book. It was the most interesting book I have read in a long time. Book Title: Among the Hidden Author: Margaret Peterson Haddix Reviewer: Keijon W Summary: Among the hidden is a book and is about two shadow children and they have to hide from the population police because the law was that you can only have two children. Some mothers had three children and they had to hide their third child. The third child couldn’t go to school or go out side because if they did they would have go to jail or get killed by the population police. I like this book because it is scary and it excites you and makes you want to know more and more about the book and the author should keep writing more among the hidden books because I really liked the first one that the author wrote. The book made me feel good and excited me because it had a lot of feeling and meaning about the government and about how the government can be unfair about things in the enviorment. The book made me feel like I wanted to know more and more about the book because once I got into the book I didn’t want to get out I just wanted to read more and more. The book is a really good book and I like it even though I don’t like a lot of books but that book had me going until the class finished it. I think that the teachers and students should read among the hidden because the book had me going and going. The book was really good I liked it and it would be good for students who didn’t read it and students who want to know about it and for summer reading. Book Title: Among the Hidden Author: Margaret Peterson Haddix Reviewer: Kristen M Summary: Among the Hidden is a book about shadow children and how they have to hide there identity and never be seen ever. A 12 year old boy named Luke is a 3rd child and their government does not allow more than two children, so Luke has to hide. Luke has never seen or spoken to anyone else except his mother, his father, and his two brothers Mathew and Mark. If Luke had been caught by the government which are the population police Luke would be killed. This book is very interesting and changed the way I look at life on how some people have different lifestyles and how other people live, and how people are less fortunate and have less money than others and how people have different acceptions. I agree with the message of freedom the author was explaining because everyone should be free and share their feelings with other people, and meet new people everyday without fake id’s and getting killed. The book to me meant freedom and bravery and trying your hardest to accomplish things you never thought possible. This somehow meant a lot to me. It just shows that if you really want something you got to believe in yourself and fight for it not just sit there and do nothing. I recommend this book to any 11-16 year olds because they probably know how bad it is to have to hide and how less fortunate people are or can turn out to be, and how sometimes in life you have to do something to save your life. Book Title: Among the Hidden Author: Margaret Peterson Haddix Reviewer: Maddy S Summary: Have you ever played Hide and Go Seek? Well try playing it your whole life. In the book Among the Hidden, that’s exactly what Luke had to do, without anyone trying to find him. In that time period women were not allowed to have more then two children. Unfortunately Luke had two brothers already (Matthew and Mark). It wasn’t all that bad, he could go outside; he just couldn’t leave the yard because he was surrounded by trees. But, the government cut down the trees and now Luke has to hide in the house. With this happening, Luke found another third child by the name of Jenifer or Jen.Then his real adventure begins. I recommend this book to kids 10-14 100%. It is thrilling and will leave you wanting to read this book all the time. Also Margret Peterson Haddix as written a whole entire series. It takes you through Luke’s life and adventures. If you are a third child you should think about how living in this time would affect your life.
