Writing Process This year we are using a five step process in writing. We begin with brainstorming which is a collection all of our ideas on the topic. For brainstorming, you can use the bubble map or make a list of ideas. The second step is to decide which of our ideas will be used and to fill out the flow map. The third step is to use the flow map to create a sloppy copy or rough draft. The next step is to look at the writing for areas that need to be corrected for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes. At this time, you might also look at the rough draft for areas that need more information or could be said in a better way. Finally, the final copy is printed as neatly and carefully as possible on another piece of paper. Then the paper is checked to see that all of the things on the checklist can be found in your writing.
