Constitution Day-Sept. 16, 2007

Big Book:
After discussing the meaning of the preamble, I put students into teams and I type up the preamble (each set of the words below go on a page) and they draw a picture to go with the words. Then we walk around & share it with other classes.

We the people of the United States,

in Order to form a more perfect Union,

establish Justice,

insure domestic tranquility,

provide for the common defense,

promote the general welfare,

and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity,

do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
