A new online math site for gifted students to find difficult math problems and compete in global competitions has been launched. Brilliant.org is an online hub for the world's most promising young minds to come together, connect, and see how they measure up against one another. It is designed for talented 11-18 year olds who would probably be "googling for hard math problems," said founder Sue Khim. Brilliant administers a diagnostic exam to new users, and then delivers "tantalizingly tricky and hard" questions written by math and physics teachers, she said. (Quote from Game On: An Online Challenge to Gifted Students to Compete Globally, article pdf linked at the bottom of this announcement page). "Students can share their answers, and how they devised them, with the Brilliant community--and their social networks."
The school geography bee will be held on December 13. Please see the "links" and "booklist" section of this website for resources.
