Exercise activities we do on a regular basis:
Yoga and stretching, Jumping rope (for speed, endurance, and tricks- short and long rope), dance, locomotor movements (walk, run, skip, hop, jump, slide, leap, and gallop), animal movements for strength/cross-brain, push-ups, sit-ups, Superman, the plank, crunches, timed runs, fitness balls.
Units for 2009-10:
Orientation/playground rules/playground games
Throwing and Catching (softballs, beanbags, footballs, yarn balls, 4-square balls)
Soccer
Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety
Softball
Jump Rope (single rope tricks, long rope spinning, partner tricks, Double Dutch)
Climbing (ropes, cargo net, swinging, climbing wall, steel ladder)
Yo-Yo's/Circus/Juggling/Stilts/Balance
Speed Stacking
Gymnastics (stretching, tumbling, static poses, animal movements, balance beam, vaulting, floor routines)
Winter Olympics
Orienteering
Bowling
Square Dancing

Tennis/ Pickleball
Lacrosse
Track and Field (sprints, relays, distance running, long jump)
