What’s New in the Music Room?

A note from Miss Pinney:

We are off and running in our preparation for the 5th and 2nd grade musical, “It's Christmas, Carol.”  It will be performed at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8th at Sunset School.

The script for the Holiday musical has been sent home with those students awarded speaking parts.  Please try to practice their part on a nightly basis to learn their part well. It will be very helpful if you could read through the lines these next two weeks to help your child learn their part.  They should know their lines without any prompts and know when they are to speak their individual parts.    

Here are a few tips as you work on your part.

1.  Each word needs to be pronounced clearly - if the words are mumbled, the story line will not be understood the audience. 

2.  Try your best not to rush through your lines - again; everyone must be able to clearly understand every word you say.         

 3.  Volume is also a concern - it is a long way from the stage to the back of the gym.  You don’t need to yell, but you will need to speak using a strong voice. 

4.  The more practice you, the actor/actress gets the more successful you will be...and the more fun you’ll have when the big night comes.

We will begin to put the entire program together on Friday, December 4th.  Please have all lines memorized by Monday, November 30th.  If you have any further questions, please contact us at Sunset School.  I will return your call as soon as possible.  (587-4279)
