Kindergarten IMC Syllabus, information & skills Kindergarten Reading with your child is a special time. It is rewarding to both the child and you. When a child learns that reading is fun and important then they will practice reading. After all they want to be "Just like Mom or Dad!" They want to be like the important people in their lives. Please read together as a family. Enjoy the time together. Dear Mom & Dad, This week I went to Sunset School's Instructional Media Center (library). It is also known as the I.M.C. or Media Center. I will bring home a book to look at and read. I will need your help! Will you please: 1. Let me share my book with you. I will tell you about the pictures or read the stories to you. 2. Help me find a special place where I can keep my library book so they will be safe from pets and babies. 3. Remind me to have clean hands when I read, and to turn pages from the corner. 4. If my library books get damaged, send them back to the library for mending or talk to the media specialist about replacing it. 5. Help me remember to use a book bag or plastic bag to carry my book home and to school. 6. Help me bring my book back on time. Someone else may want to read it. Thank you for helping me.
