02/03/09 Tuesday Morning Announcements
In a close match yesterday, the Women Cougars shutout their Basic Opponents 9 to 0 at the Strikezone Bowling Lanes. Alex Katz led the Cougars with a 206 game while Jessica Zack fired a 500 series in leading the women to their thirteenth straight victory.
The Men won by an identical 9 to 0 count as Jordan Katz blasted a 669 series while Joe Mortero rolled the high game of the day's match, a 248 score. John Mortero bowled a 245 game to finish up his match for the night.
02/05/09 Thursday Morning Announcements
For the third consecutive year, the Cougar Women Bowlers completed an undefeated season yesterday at the Strikezone Lanes when they defeated Del Sol 9 to 0. The Cougar Women not only were undefeated, but they did not lose even a single game is any of their matches. Yesterday the Cougars were led by Alex Katz's 258 game and a 679 series followed by Natalie Schibrowsky's 243 and 200 games and 610 series. Congratulations to Tiana, Jessica, Natalie, and Alex.
The Cougar Men also defeated their Del Sol opponents by a 9 to 0 score and were led by Brandon Dauphinais's 616 series. Jordan Katz tossed a 236 game and Johnny Mortero added another 236 game. 02/09/09 Monday Morning Announcements On Friday night at Cashman Field, Coronado Captain Woman Bowler, Alex Katz, won the Clark County MVP Bowling Tournament. Bowling on the toughest lane conditions possible, Alex averaged 200 per game over 5 games to reach the stepladder finals in first place. She then proceeded to win the championship match after she began by striking on her first three shots and never trailed after that. Not only did Alex win over the top women bowlers from every high school in Clark County, but her score total was higher than all of the men bowlers except for one. Congratulations to Alex on her Championship!!!
02/13/09 Friday Morning Announcements
Congratulations to the Cougar Men Bowlers who opened the first night of the Playoffs by defeating Las Vegas High School 9 to 0. Brandon Dauphinais led the Cougars by blasting a 710 series. Anthony King stroked a 242 game, Jordan Katz rolled a 212, Joe Mortero hit a 211 game and Zac Hochman hit a 201 third game. The Cougars will take on Foothill in their next match on Tuesday at the Orlean's Bowling Center. 02/17/09 Tuesday Wednesday Morning Announcements The Cougar Women Bowlers opened the defense of their state title by defeating Rancho High School at the Orlean's on Friday afternoon. The Cougars were led by Captain Alex Katz who fired games of 202 and 194. Lead-off Cougar Tiana Ackerman tossed games of 185 and 190 as the Cougars won 9 to 0. The play-offs continue at 2:30 in the Orlean's Lanes today as the Women Cougars take on Las Vegas High School and the men bowlers tangle with Foothill.
