All students need to write their homework in their agenda books on a daily basis.  We have a "class agenda" book that can always be used to make sure your agenda is current.  We also record all assignments on the back blackboard, and Mrs. Quay's daily assignments are recorded on the front white board as well.  In an effort to reinforce this habit on a daily basis, homework will not be updated on the website.  Unfortunately, some use this as a crutch, and if students have not recorded their homework correctly, they will likely not have the correct materials home with them!

Daily Homework:  Even if there is no "daily homework" assigned, you should be doing the following:

1.    Practice Math Facts - Tests begin in September/October.

2.   Review your Science words and concepts often.

3.    Religion - We are always learning a new prayer.  Remember to practice it!

4.    Reading - You should be reading, a book of your choice,  at least 30 minutes each day.  Remember, we want to read 15 - 25 books by the end of June!!

5.   Spelling - You should be practicing your Spelling words each day.  Remember they need to be spelled in cursive, and your letters need to be correct to receive a 100 (in addition to being spelled correctly)!

REGULAR HOMEWORK:

Homework during the school year will be assigned on a daily basis. The intent of homework is to reinforce ideas and concepts that we learned about during the school day. It is important that you do your homework when it is assigned. If you wait to do it or do not have it in class when we go over it, then you do not have the chance to ask questions and understand the mistakes you might have made.

Most homework will not be graded for actual correctness. However, you will lose 5 points off your homework grade for each homework assignment you do not have when it is due.

After 3 missed assignments for a subject area, I will be contacting parents to see what can be done to get you back on track. If there are 6 missed assignments I'll be requesting a parent teacher conference. At this point your homework grade for the quarter could be as low as 70%.
