"What a school thinks about its library is a measure of what it thinks about education."
---Harold Howe, former US Commissioner of Education
All Library classes meet once a week for 45 minutes. Preschool meets for 20 minutes.
Library books are checked out for a one week period to all students but preschool. Students are instructed in proper care of the books. If a student is absent on Library Day, the book is due the following week. If the book is not returned on time, the student is not given another book until its return. Students are asked to return books on time; this allows them to choose another book, it allows other students to read the book, and it keeps the books safe.
Books may be renewed if there is no hold on them. Books can be placed on hold by students or teachers.
Third and Fourth grade students are allowed two books a week. Younger students check out only one.
All books are collected before long holidays and at the end of May.
